25 March - Aikido grading

31st March - AYW hosts the Liesure Centre for their Self Defense development workshop.

April-May 2010
- 1st April (Thursday) Grading Celebration and Farewell Party - AYW hosts a simple celebration to all who made their successful grading.

- 10 April (Saturday) - AYW Hosts REGENERATE - Youth Festival! Wagga Wagga's annual youth festival is 8 days of mayhem, hype, intense fun and awesome people. Your challenge is to rock, create, aspire, chill, imagine, play and most of all to SHINE.

It's an event particularly for 12-18 year olds in and around Wagga. The festival is held each year in the April school holidays with a program of events distributed through schools and local youth venues in the weeks leading up.

Let's make sure the talents of young people in Wagga and surrounds can be seen from near and far.

It's your festival - leap in!!!

May 2010
26 May - Self Defense for Women Workshop. A fund raising activity for Dragons Abreast.

Program Objective

The worst part of an attack situation is the feeling of total helplessness the victim experiences. This workshop not only empowers a woman physically with simple, effective techniques for an escape, but also psychologically and emotionally by enabling her to maintain the presence of mind necessary to recognize or create an opportunity to get away.

Program Format

Skills are taught and drilled in a relaxed atmosphere until each student is able to execute the techniques. Participants learn how to overcome panic response, practice strategy and perform the techniques in a simulated reality situation.
